Safari Itinerary
Day 01: Nairobi, Kenya
Jambo Kenya! Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight at The Boma hotel.
Day 02: Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve
Depart after breakfast and travel by road to Kenya’s northern frontier. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannah watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. Samburu is renowned for its rare species of fauna known as the “Samburu Five” or special five.
Have a game drive en-route to the camp and arrive in time for lunch at Samburu Simba lodge and later in the evening, you will explore this beautiful reserve while on a game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 03: Explore Samburu
Today is set aside for game viewing in Samburu Reserve, exploring its open grasslands and diverse landscapes in search of variety of wildlife found here. Samburu hosts beautiful forests, springs, and rivers, offering stunning scenery. The park is also rich in birdlife hosting over 350 species.
Another highlight is encountering the traditional Samburu people, with their indigenous culture that still follows ancient practices. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 04: Samburu - Drive To Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Today we wake up bright and early, have breakfast and leave the camp to the famous Ol Pejeta conservancy the largest population of black rhinos in east Africa and is Kenya’s only chimpanzee sanctuary. The reserve boasts high densities of wildlife including the Big Five of Africa (Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, and leopard) and plain game.
Enjoy a game drive en-route to Sweetwaters Serena Camp which offers an elegant retreat amid the breath-taking natural beauty of Kenya’s Ol Pejeta Conservancy with 56 stylishly appointed tents include the standard wing and the deluxe Morani wing. Arrive in time for lunch and check in. Later, enjoy an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 05: Ol Pejeta - Lake Naivasha National Park
After breakfast we shall depart to Lake Naivasha. Arrive in time for lunch and later have an optional cruise at the lake and a walking safari on Crescent Island. Lake Naivasha is a fresh lake and is home to hippos and other aquatic animals. Birding safaris are also greatly advised with more than 570 species of birds. Later, you will transfer to Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 06: Lake Naivasha - Amboseli National Park
After a breakfast bid farewell to Lake Naivasha National Park and drive back to Nairobi “The City Under the Sun,” arriving in time for lunch at TOONA TREE RESTAURANT where you can enjoy your sumptuous meal. Later drive to Amboseli National Park.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive in this park known as the elite of Kenya’s national parks and framed by majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.
Dinner and overnight at Kilima Safari camp.
Day 07: Amboseli
Adventure in Amboseli.
Morning and Afternoon game drives are included today. Amboseli affords you a terrific opportunity to get close to the mighty elephant. Stop for sundowner drinks prior to returning to your camp for dinner.
Day 08: Amboseli - Arusha
Cross the border into Tanzania today where you will be met by your Tanzania Guide and be transferred to your hotel for check in and lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at Ilboru Safari Lodge.
Day 09: Departure To Arusha National Park
After having your sumptuous breakfast, drive to Arusha National Park famous for being home to black and white colobus monkeys; it is the only park where you can find them in Tanzania. In addition, you will have the pleasure of seeing other animals in the park. Enjoy a picnic lunch and later drive around the beautiful Momella lake, which is surrounded by thousands of flamingos. The landscape at Arusha National Park is also a sight to behold, especially because it stretches out towards the famous Mt. Kilimanjaro. Drive back to Ilboru Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park
Today travel to tranquil Lake Manyara National Park in search of its large lion prides and elephant herds. Drive through the baobab tree lined park and explore the silale swamp. Return to your camp for lunch. Afternoon drive north through the park and to the town of Makuyuni where you continue the journey through a scenic escarpment that brings you to your lodge, perched on the edge of the Rift Valley with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Tortilis Camp
Day 11: Lake Manyara - Ndutu Plains
Wake up early for breakfast and thereafter head to Ndutu Plains. For those interested in learning more about the Masai culture, you can request to make a stop at one of the Masai villages along the way. Drive to the Olduvai Gorge, also known as cradle of mankind and learn more about the origin of man. This is the gorge where anthropologist Mary and Louis Leakey made discoveries about how man originated in Africa. Take your picnic lunch as you proceed with your journey. Drive to Ndutu Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Ndutu Plains - Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, the journey continues northwest across the stunning hilly countryside of the highlands which is filled with wheat and coffee plantations, and then into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here lie the vast plains of the Serengeti, where you begin spotting wildlife as you approach the entrance gate. Upon arrival at Mbalageti Serengeti Camp in time for lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive, discovering the varied landscapes and abundant wildlife of the Serengeti.
Day 13: Serengeti
Serengeti Serendipity
Continue your exploration during morning and afternoon game drives. Home to the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra, generally between late November and July, the Serengeti attracts visitors from around the world and is great for year-round game viewing. Tonight, join a farewell bush dinner in the bush featuring a traditional Masai dance performance celebrating an ancient culture amid the majestic wildlife. The perfect ending to a spectacular safari adventure.
Day 14: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast depart for Ngorongoro viewing wildlife across the vast Serengeti plains, stopping off en route for your picnic lunch. You then continue your journey towards Ngorongoro where you pass along the rim of the crater and descend to the park gate and your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp.
Day 15: Ngorongoro - Tarangire National Park
Drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its huge herds of elephants and giraffes, as well as remarkable variety of over 500 bird species. The Tarangire River and its tributaries provide the only permanent water supply on Masai Mara during the dry season, thus supporting a great diversity of wildlife. The afternoon game drive is certain to inspire with views of the park’s gigantic Baobab trees. Dinner and overnight at the Tarangire safari lodge.
Day 16 & 17: Departure To Arusha
You will embark on a last game drive and nature walk in Tarangire National Park after breakfast. Thereafter, drive back to Arusha. Check in at the hotel where you will relax and freshen up. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 18: Journey Home
A furry farewell
Embark on one final drive/walk around Arusha Town. Later transfer to the airport for your scheduled departure flight.
