Safari Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive in Nairobi
Karibu Kenya! Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our customer service representative and be transferred to Eka hotel where you will have the rest of the day at leisure and relax. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Nairobi - Samburu National reserve
After breakfast, we will head north through an agricultural region that is rich with coffee, wheat, and various other crops. You will cross the equator at Nanyuki and continue north before descending from the cool highlands into the wildlife rich savanna woodlands. Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at Samburu Simba lodge and an afternoon game drive. The Samburu is one of the lesser-known Kenyan national parks but is nevertheless teeming with wildlife. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty here to attract animals from the surrounding savanna plains. The reserve is home to an abundance of rare northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the beisa oryx (also referred to as the “Samburu Special Five”). Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 03: Samburu
Enjoy an early morning game drive in search for the elusive leopards and lions along the way. Return to your lodge for breakfast and then spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. In the evening, you will go on another game drive early evening in search of the abundant wildlife at Samburu. Alternatively, you can depart after breakfast with picnic lunch and do a full day game drive, returning to the camp later afternoon. You will encounter and learn more about the wildlife species roaming this reserve. On a typical game drive, you are bound to come across Leopards, Elephants, Lions, Giraffe, among other wild species. After your evening game drive, you will return to your lodge for evening rest and dinner. All meals will be served at the lodge.
Day 04: Samburu - Ol Pejeta
After breakfast, depart from Samburu with a game drive en route driving to Nanyuki. Ol Pejeta conservancy is home to a chimpanzee sanctuary, Baraka, the black Rhino and two of the only remaining species of Northern white rhino. This vast ranch was once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire Adnan Khashoggi. Arrive in time for lunch at Sweetwater’s serena camp a truly exceptional destination that offers an unforgettable African safari experience. Later, enjoy an evening game drive and return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 05: Ol Pejeta – Hell’s gate national park
After having breakfast, drive northwest to Hell’s gate national park known for its diverse wildlife and topography, pretty scenery, and exciting range of activities. Due to the absence of large predators, you can explore the park on foot or hire a bicycle (at extra cost) and cycle inside the park while viewing wild animals grazing, also engage in rock climbing at the Fischer’s tower and have a chance to walk into the gorge bed and hot springs and experience the hot water from the spring. Later, we head to Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 06: Hell’s gate national park - Amboseli national park
After breakfast, we travel to Amboseli national park whose signature attraction is the sight of hundreds of big-tusked elephants set against the backdrop of Africa’s best views of Mount Kilimanjaro; Africa’s highest peak broods over the southern boundary of the park, and while the clouds cover can render the mountains massive bulk invisible for much of the day, you will be rewarded with stunning vistas when the weather clears, usually at down or dusk. Apart from the guaranteed elephant sightings, you will also see wildebeests and zebras, and you have a reasonable chance of spotting lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The park is home to over 370 species of birds. Have a game drive en route to the lodge and arrive in time for lunch. Later in the evening enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park as you get to the spectacular wildlife as well as the African elephant. Dinner and overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge (FB)
Day 07: Explore Amboseli national park
Our day will be spent at the park with a morning and afternoon game drive as you get to see large herds of elephants and hippos bathing in the swamp grounds whose underground water source is the mountain. We can also visit the local Masai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture. All meals and overnight at the lodge.
Day 08: Amboseli - Arusha
After breakfast, drive to Isebania border where you will be met by your Tanzania guide and drive to Arusha, a vibrant city nestled beneath Mount Meru, and check into the comfortable Tulia Hotel.
Day 09: Arusha - Serengeti
This day, you’ll embark on an aerial adventure to the Serengeti, one of the world’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Kirimu Tented Camp, nestled in the heart of the park, brings you close to nature. Your evening in the Serengeti is a prelude to thrilling days of exploration.
Day 10: Serengeti National Park
This day, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti which promises extraordinary wildlife encounters across the expansive plains reveal an abundance of wildlife, from prides of lions to graceful gazelles. The Serengeti is not just a national park; it’s an enchanting ecosystem that leaves you in awe of nature’s grandeur. All meals and overnight at the camp.
Day 11: Serengeti National Park
Leaving the Serengeti, your journey leads you to the Ngorongoro crater, a geological wonder. Perched on the crater rim, Ngorongoro Safari Lodge offers stunning vistas of this unique habitat. Enjoy an evening game drive and later unwind and soak in the beauty of this natural amphitheatre. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 11: Serengeti National Park
Leaving the Serengeti, your journey leads you to the Ngorongoro crater, a geological wonder. Perched on the crater rim, Ngorongoro Safari Lodge offers stunning vistas of this unique habitat. Enjoy an evening game drive and later unwind and soak in the beauty of this natural amphitheatre. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 12: Explore Ngorongoro
This day, we will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, an ethereal haven for wildlife. The crater’s floor hosts a fascinating array of creatures, including the rare black rhino and vast herds of wildebeests. At Lake Magadi, flamingos create a vibrant contrast to the mineral-rich waters. Your day is one of discovery and wonder. All meals and overnight at the lodge.
Day 13: Ngorongoro - Tarangire
Our adventure today takes you to Tarangire National Park, where colossal elephant herds roam beneath ancient baobab trees. Arrive at Tarangire Sopa lodge in good time for lunch and later enjoy an evening game drive in Tarangire national park which offers glimpses of this majestic landscape.
Day 14: Tarangire - Arusha
After breakfast, drive to Arusha where you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
