Solio Ranch Conservancy Overview
Solio Ranch Conservancy is a private conservancy in Kenya known for its successful rhino breeding program. The conservancy has a rhino sanctuary with over 250 rhinos and is internationally recognized as Kenya’s most successful private rhino breeding conservancy.
Solio Ranch Conservancy has a record of trans-locating over 100 black and 60 white rhinos to other parts of Kenya. They also relocated 6 rhinos to Uganda.
Owner & Management
The Conservancy is privately owned by the Parfet family, who established it in 1970. It holds a significant place in history as the world’s first private rhino sanctuary. Solio Ranch Conservancy is managed with the support of the Kenyan Government, Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), and the Kenyan Armed Forces.
