Gatamaiyu Forest is part of the larger Kereita forest within the Aberdare ranges. It has rich Biodiversity, landscapes, waterfalls, and a peaceful atmosphere. As you explore the forest you come across a wide range of Flora and Fauna. It’s a good spot for bird watching, hiking and a paradise for nature lovers. The forest is covered with a wide range of different species of plants, shrubs, and flowers.
This forest is home to approximately 138 recorded bird species. 31 forest specialists and 20 are considered rare and uncommon. It is a habitat of around 39 of Kenya’s 67 Afro tropical Highland’s biome bird species.
