the Hotel B/B.The
Nairobi Serena Hotel
Justly famed for its
superlative standards of
efficiency, service and
hospitality, the
elegantly sophisticated
Nairobi Serena
Hotel.Considered by many
to be Nairobi’s finest
hotel, the Serena stands
amidst lush tropical
gardens with panoramic
views over Nairobi’s
Central Park and the
glittering downtown
skyline. Despite its
pivotal central
location, the Serena
also remains true to its
title and offers an
oasis of serenity amidst
the bustle of one of
Africa’s most vibrant
capital
cities.Established in
the mid-1970s, The
Serena Group was
launched with a simple
but challenging goal; to
become the leading hotel
group in East Africa.
Today this goal has
become a reality. Set
amongst the lush-green
abundance of extensive
tropical gardens,
looking out over the
gentle green avenues of
Central Park and
commanding a panoramic
view over the glittering
towers of downtown
Nairobi, the Serena
Hotel enjoys one of the
finest locations in the
city. Sensitively
constructed from
ecologically sympathetic
materials, the interior
décor of the hotel
reflects a kaleidoscope
of cultural influences
blending Moroccan
mystique and a breadth
of African heritage into
one elegant and
harmonious whole.

legendary Mount Kenya,
Mountain Lodge offers a
matchless game viewing
opportunity whilst
combining a glorious
panorama of mountain
vistas with the
primordial splendours of
an ancient rainforest.
Floating 2,195 m high on
the flanks of Kenya’s
highest mountain and
secreted deep within her
largest forest reserve,
the lodge offers not
only the
champagne-clarity of
mountain air, the
tranquility of the
forest and a colourful
cavalcade of wildlife
but also the chance of
scaling the icy peaks of
Africa’s second-highest
mountain.
Guests can also awake to
the trumpeting of
elephant, fall asleep to
the symphony of the
African night or sit in
stillness and observe
the fascinating
interplay of the animals
as they arrive to drink,
bathe, spar and forage
around the water hole.
Finally, they can
venture down to the
secret viewing hide by
the water’s edge and
experience the awesome
thrill of being only
meters away from some of
the most massive beasts
on earth.

Samburu National Reserve
A place of endless
skies, dust-red plains
and palm-fringed rivers,
Samburu National Reserve
lies on the fringes of
the vast and arid desert
once known as the
Northern Frontier
District, whose
heat-scorched scrublands
extend all the way to
the jade-green waters of
Lake Turkana and beyond.
Physically dramatic, the
104 sq kilometre
landscape of the Reserve
features rocky
battlements, craggy
scarps, dry river beds
and fallen boulders
rising out of the thorn
scrub against a backdrop
of the far-distant hills
and the great red table
mountain known as
Lololokwi. As for
wildlife, Samburu
provides one of the few
sanctuaries in Kenya for
the endangered Grevy’s
zebra, the rare beisa
oryx and the
blue-shanked Somali
ostrich whilst large
herds of elephant roam
the gaunt hills during
the day before returning
to bathe on the banks of
the river in the
evening.
Samburu Serena Safari
Lodge
Set in a landscape of
endless skies, dust-red
plains and palm-fringed
rivers, this
refreshingly rustic
lodge is renowned for
the timeless beauty of
its landscape and the
serene tranquillity of
its setting. Nestled
amidst the acacia groves
that border the
crocodile-filled reaches
of the Uaso Nyiro River,
the lodge stands
centre-stage to miles of
lion-stalked grasslands,
elephant-studded plains
and wildlife-teeming
bush. It is also ideally
placed for visits to the
neighbouring parks of
Buffalo Springs and
Shaba National Reserve.
Experience the serenity
and tranquillity of
Samburu at the Samburu
Serena Safari Lodge.

private wildlife
conservancy, Sweetwaters
Tented Camp is in a
class of its own.
Abounding with wildlife,
unfettered by the more
rigorous strictures of
the Kenyan National
Parks and designed to
offer a charming blend
of under canvas ambiance
and uncompromising
luxury, it has long been
the preferred retreat of
wilderness and safari
lovers alike. One of
only four private game
reserves in Kenya, Ol
Pejeta Conservancy
excels in the provision
of privileged seclusion
and private game
viewing. Thanks to its
private status it also
allows such
unforgettable pleasures
as the Sweetwaters
Chimpanzee Sanctuary
(the only place in Kenya

endangered animals),

black rhino, night game

Mara Serena Lodge
The Mara Serena
Safari Lodge
Secreted deep within the
Masai Mara National
Reserve, the Mara Serena
Safari Lodge is the
ultimate safari
destination. Set high on
a bush-cloaked hill,
embraced by arcing
vistas and washed by a
sea of richly rolling
grasslands, it stands
centre-stage to one of
Africa’s most dramatic
wildlife arenas and has
a ringside seat for the
greatest wildlife show
on Earth, the legendary
migration of the
wildebeest.
Drawing its inspiration
from the traditional
Maasai cultural motif of
a cluster of domed, mud-coloured
huts encircled by a
“Boma” of brushwood, the
Mara Serena offers a
rare blend of raw
African splendour and
sumptuous
sophistication. The
essentially ethnic décor
also draws on a vibrant
colour-palette of
sun-burst colours,
embellished by a unique
selection of Maasai art
to create the look and
feel of a traditional
bush encampment. The
lodge features
individual rooms, each
with their own balcony
and view of eternity, a
sky-blue swimming pool
and a spectacular
restaurant, overlooking
a water hole where a
fantasia of creatures
collect to drink.

Amboseli Serena Lodge
Amboseli Serena Safari
Lodge
Framed against the
glorious backdrop of
Africa’s highest
mountain, the
magnificently beautiful
Mount Kilimanjaro,
surrounded by miles of
rolling grasslands,
patrolled by vast herds
of elephant, shaded by
the lush,
feathered-green of an
acacia grove and hugging
the banks of a gently
flowing river, this very
traditional yet
supremely luxurious
lodge is the safari
destination of a
lifetime.
Amboseli National
Park
Amboseli National Park
provides the classic
Hollywood image of
Africa. Set in rolling
savannah scenery it is
dwarfed by the presence
of the pink-tinged,
snow-capped peak of
Mount Kilimanjaro which,
at 5,896 meters, is the
highest free-standing
mountain in the world
and topped by one fifth
of all the ice in
Africa. Against this
magnificent backdrop
roam vast herds of
elephant accompanied by
a kaleidoscope of other
fabulous beasts - lion,
buffalo, cheetah,
giraffe, baboon, gazelle
hippo and wildebeest to
name but a few. There
are also over 400
species of birds, all
manner of reptilian,
flora and fauna and some
of the most soul-searing
views in Africa.
Day 10; Amboseli
Full day with two game

Serena Lodge. The first
lodge ever to be built

Park, Kilaguni Serena
Safari Lodge is superbly
situated in the lee of
Mount Kilimanjaro,
encircled by volcanic
splendour, adjacent to a
teeming water hole and
daily visited by vast
herds of elephant,
buffalo and plains game.
Inspirationally
positioned so that not
only all the rooms but
also the open-air
restaurant, timbered
game-viewing decks and
rock-built bar enjoy
uninterrupted views of
the legendary snows of
Kilimanjaro, the lodge
also stands central to
miles of lion-stalked
grasslands,
elephant-studded plains
and wildlife-teeming
bush and is ideally
placed for visits to all
the park’s prime
attractions. Faced in
volcanic stone and
utilising the natural
rocky outcrops of a
valley known as ‘the
place of the young
rhino’, from which it
takes its name, the
lodge has been designed
to blend chameleon-like
into the savannah
landscape. Cool,
tranquil and hushed for
optimum game-viewing the
open-air dining area,
timbered decks and
rock-hewn bar blend the
traditional
“khaki-and-canvas” look
with bright-painted
banners, sepia-hued
paintings and evocative
olive-wood carvings of
elephant herds and
tail-erect wart hogs.
The elegantly renovated
rooms draw on a
sun-gold, sky-blue and
